Happy Birthday to Me......

We spent a great weekend together with nearly the whole family. Only Heath was missing - but was with us in spirit! (and on the phone) It was great to visit with everyone one last time before heading out of the country. We will miss you.

Birds

Heath's jet hit a bird last week. It struck less than one foot from the engine intake (after some superior manuevering), which would have been disasterous. Thankfully, he was unharmed. I wish I could say the same for the bird.

Brotherly Love

Ryan and Will are finally starting to play together. Will idolizes Ryan and watches his every move. Ryan enjoys the admiration and is happy to have an eager hide and seek playmate. There is no sweeter sound than that of your children laughing together.

Mischief

For those of you who've commented on Ryan's "exemplary" behavior: you'll be happy to know that last week I caught him sabatoging Will via the armchair. I followed Will (because hearing Ryan's sweet voice calling his brother to come play is highly unusual) into the room just in time to hear "Gotcha!" and (to my horror) watch Ryan actuate the footrest lever, which sent Will flying across the den! When he realized he had been caught in the act, Ryan offered up a very unconvincing, "oops".

Up, up, and Away!

Will took his first steps on Sunday, May 13, Mother's Day. He's been practicing so diligently since then and can now walk about 10 steps! This new game should be great fun on the flight to Korea! I guess it's better than crawling.
